twig boy cooks – fiery cajun spice rub
Yes, I know. Mixing spices together is not cooking. It’s mixing. Still, this rub is pretty flipping amazing and it will probably be used a lot on these hallowed pages through the coming weeks, months, years, decades, centuries etc* so I figured it was a good time to get everyone on board with it.
*Imagine how amazing it will be if twig boy gets fully transcended to the cloud. Infinite cooking power.
Ingredients. Makes – a small bowl. Prep time – 3 minutes.
2 tsp salt – I use Himalayan salt because I have ideas above my station and I like that it’s pink
2 tsp garlic powder
2 1/2 tsp paprika – I use Spanish. I live near Spain
1 tsp freshly ground black pepper
1 tsp cayenne pepper – more or less depending on how spicy you want your mix
1 1/4 dried oregano
1 1/4 dried thyme – I use fresh thyme, I grow it
1/2 tsp red chilli flakes
1 tsp onion powder – optional, I used it once but I didn’t get much out of it
ONE. Put all of the separate ingredients into a bowl. Mix together.
TWO. Store in an airtight container. It should last a week or two with fresh thyme and a lot longer with dried thyme.
